3 THINGS FROM #MUSEUMNEXT: DAY 2

SAGE Gateshead 2

By Josh Greenberg

The Antenna LAB team are in Newcastle this week at the fantastic Museum Next conference. Below are a few of the things that caught our eye on day 2.

Museums need to explore outside their physical boundaries

From Antenna LAB's very own Jessica Taylor and Sam Billington, a vision to enable museums to collaborate with one another, create digital storytelling ‘corridors’ in our city streets and engage with the general public in totally new ways. Check out the presentation here.

Giving artists access to technology provides fantastic insight into how you can use it in new and exciting ways

Amy Heibel from LACMA talked about LACMA Lab, which pairs artists with technology, giving in-kind support and room for them to experiment and develop new prototypes.

MoMA runs really cool social media campaigns

MoMA's new Art 140 asks all of us what different works of art meant to us, and how they make us feel, turning everyone into an art critic. Also, their curatorial Instagram takeovers give fantastic insight into how curators work exploring their wide range of influences to great effect.
